Welcome to our school

Dear Parents/Carers, A very warm welcome to St. Thomas’ Primary School! I am very proud to be the Head Teacher of such a wonderful school and my aim is to provide the children of St. Thomas’ with the highest standard of education possible. We are a school which is open, welcoming and inclusive. We, at St. Thomas’, seek to prepare pupils to find happiness and to lead lives of goodness, built upon Christian values, personal integrity and moral courage. We have a very committed, and highly supportive, staff that strive to ensure that all of our children are happy, successful and prepared with the skills and attributes to participate fully in our future society.

I believe in the importance of working with parents as I believe that parents, carers and families are by far the most important influences in a child's life. Their support can play a vital role at all stages of education. I actively encourage parents to take on a supportive role in their children’s learning as this makes a difference in improving their achievement and behaviour.

We have a very active Parent Council which we welcome and I actively work to develop positive partnerships with parents by involving them in all decisions affecting their children’s education and learning. I believe my role of Head Teacher is to not only support the children within my school but to also support their families.

Should any questions remain unanswered about your child's learning, homework or any other issues; you can contact the school to make an appointment to speak to a member of the management team who will be more than happy to help.

Yours sincerely,

Geraldine Parkinson
